In the wake of recent flooding across the Hill Country, many children and families are navigating the emotional and physical aftermath. Using the principles of Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI), we’re sharing six easy-to-implement tools that help calm stress responses, promote emotional expression, and build a sense of safety.

Each month we profile one of our amazing Advocates. This month, we invite you to meet Nancy McCulloch. She became an Advocate in 2015. During her 10 years of volunteering, she has served on 12 child welfare cases. Nancy was recently recognized at our 2025 Volunteer & Community Appreciation Event for her dedication and years of service.
Child Advocates of Montgomery County hosted its Champions for Children “Hope Grows” Volunteer and Community Appreciation Event at The Peach Orchard in The Woodlands on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. As April marks Volunteer Appreciation Month, the organization celebrated the unwavering commitment of more than 250 volunteers and dedicated community partners who support Montgomery County’s most vulnerable children and families.

Alice is being recognized at the 35th annual Women of Distinction luncheon in May 2025 as the honoree for Child Advocates of Montgomery County.
