Child Advocates of Montgomery County hosted its Champions for Children “Hope Grows” Volunteer and Community Appreciation Event at The Peach Orchard in The Woodlands on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. As April marks Volunteer Appreciation Month, the organization celebrated the unwavering commitment of more than 250 volunteers and dedicated community partners who support Montgomery County’s most vulnerable children and families.

Over 110 guests gathered for an evening of reflection and celebration honoring remarkable individuals and organizations who make a profound difference every day. This year’s event not only recognized volunteer Advocates but also highlighted the contributions of fundraising event committees, event volunteers, office volunteers, volunteer board members, and other groups, community partners, and individuals who generously offer their time and passion to the cause.

The evening began with a cocktail hour in the garden, where attendees mingled to the sounds of live music while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Guests then moved indoors to share dinner and take part in the evening’s heartfelt program.

President and CEO Ann Marie Ronsman welcomed guests with a moving speech that underscored the incredible impact volunteers and community partners have on the lives of children in crisis. She expressed deep gratitude for their tireless dedication and ongoing efforts to bring hope and stability to families in Montgomery County.

The program also featured the presentation of awards to recognize exceptional service and contributions:

• Kirsten Bubier, Sally Cline (not present), and Nancy McCulloch were honored for ten years of outstanding volunteer service.
• Susan Olver, who has served as a steadfast volunteer since 2007, holds the distinction of being Child Advocates’ longest-serving Advocate.
• Community partners recognized for their invaluable support included Chesmar Foundation, Carol Knott Tefft, Sleep in Heavenly Peace TX-Montgomery Co, and Waste Connections.

Guests enjoyed a delectable dinner catered by All-Star Catering, and Montgomery Bakehouse displayed a stunning assortment of cookies, adding a sweet touch to the evening. After the program, the musical talents of Jerry Rowell set the perfect tone as attendees danced the night away.
