Children entering foster care today have often endured more severe abuse for longer periods before removal, arriving with deeper trauma. More families are struggling with food insecurity, housing instability, and the weight of generational trauma. And more children than ever are entering our juvenile justice and truancy systems—each one in need of a safe, stable adult to help them navigate difficult circumstances. These realities make our work more urgent than at any time in our history.
