Since stepping into the role in early 2021, Ronsman has guided the organization through a period of remarkable growth, innovation, and strengthened community impact.

Ronsman first joined Child Advocates as a volunteer Advocate in 2014 before becoming Training Director in 2018. When she was appointed President and CEO, she brought with her a deep understanding of the mission, extensive experience in trauma‑informed care, and a vision for expanding services to better meet the needs of vulnerable children and families in Montgomery County.

Over the past five years, Child Advocates has experienced significant organizational expansion and program development, including:

— The opening of The Rock Center for Child Advocacy: In 2021, the organization moved into its new permanent home at 505 N. Main Street in Conroe, now known as The Rock Center for Child Advocacy. This dedicated space has allowed for expanded training, increased volunteer support, and greater visibility within the community.

— Expansion of services for justice‑involved youth and educational advocacy: Recognizing the growing needs of older youth and children navigating complex systems, Ronsman led the development of two major program expansions: a Justice‑Involved Youth Program supporting youth involved in the juvenile justice system and their families and a strengthened Educational Advocacy Program ensuring children receive the academic support, stability, and resources they need to thrive

These initiatives have broadened the organization’s reach and deepened its ability to serve children facing the most significant barriers.

— Establishment of the Training and TBRI® Community Education Division: In 2022, Ronsman oversaw the creation of a new organizational division dedicated to Training and TBRI® Community Education. This division formalized the agency’s long‑standing commitment to Trust‑Based Relational Intervention® and expanded trauma‑informed training to schools, child welfare partners, law enforcement, and community organizations across the region, state, and nation.

Ronsman’s background as a registered nurse, her expertise in childhood trauma, and her years of service within Child Advocates have shaped her leadership approach. Under her guidance, the organization has strengthened partnerships, expanded community education, and continued its commitment to ensuring that every child in foster care in Montgomery County has a dedicated Advocate.

“Ann Marie’s leadership has propelled Child Advocates into a new era of growth and impact,” said Catherine Miller, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Her vision, compassion, and unwavering dedication to children have transformed our organization and expanded the ways we serve our community.”

As Child Advocates enters its next chapter, Ronsman remains focused on strengthening trauma‑informed practices, expanding community partnerships, and ensuring that every child and family in crisis receives the support they need.

“I am honored to serve this mission and this community,” Ronsman said. “The past five years have shown what is possible when passionate volunteers, dedicated staff, and committed partners come together for children. I look forward to continuing this work and building an even stronger future for Montgomery County’s most vulnerable youth.”
