Child Advocates of Montgomery County today announced the inaugural Prevailing HOPE: A Gathering for Good luncheon, a community event dedicated to uplifting children in crisis and honoring the individuals who rise above adversity to create lasting change. Presented by Lennar, the luncheon will be on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Peach Orchard, 1737 Sawdust Road, The Woodlands, Texas.

The event will feature acclaimed keynote speaker Amelia Rose Earhart — around-the-world aviator, author, and founder of the Fly with Amelia Foundation — and will conclude with the announcement of the inaugural Women Who Prevail Award, honoring women whose resilience and generosity have transformed their own stories or the lives of others.

In addition to Lennar, Child Advocates extends special thanks to this year’s generous sponsors: Waste Connections, Program Sponsor; Chesmar Foundation, Lunch Sponsor; and Premiere Events, Decor Sponsor. Their partnership makes this inaugural gathering possible.

Keynote Speaker: Amelia Rose Earhart

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: AMELIA ROSE EARHART

Named after the legendary aviator herself, Amelia Rose Earhart didn’t just carry the name; she lived up to it. In 2014, she circumnavigated the entire globe in a single-engine aircraft across 28,000 nautical miles, a journey most only dare to dream about. The most powerful lesson she carried home: “You have to learn to love the turbulence.”

Those words resonate deeply with the work of Child Advocates of Montgomery County, which walks alongside children navigating storms they never chose. Children facing abuse, neglect, and crisis at their most vulnerable. Like Amelia, these children don’t get to choose the turbulence. But with the right voices in their corner, they discover they can still fly.

WOMEN WHO PREVAIL AWARD: NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN

Child Advocates of Montgomery County has officially opened the nomination portal for the Women Who Prevail Award, which will be presented at the luncheon. The award celebrates women whose heart for others and/or ability to prevail through adversity has made a lasting impact — women who rise above challenges or lift others through compassion, leadership, and resilience.

Community members are invited to nominate a deserving woman in their life. There is no charge to nominate. Nominations are open now and will close July 31, 2026. The nomination portal is available at https://childadvocatestexas.org.

A COMMUNITY UNITED AGAINST CHILD TRAFFICKING

This year’s luncheon will also highlight Child Advocates’ commitment to protection that extends beyond the courtroom. Research shows that children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or involvement with the child welfare system face a significantly elevated risk of being targeted for human trafficking.

Child Advocates is a licensed provider of Not a Number, an evidence-informed trafficking and exploitation prevention curriculum developed by Love146, a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to the abolition of child trafficking and exploitation. The interactive program equips youth ages 12 to 18 with the knowledge and skills to recognize danger, set boundaries, and make safer choices, both online and in person.

Child Advocates offers Not a Number at no cost to any organization serving youth in Montgomery County, not only the children assigned a volunteer Advocate. Attendees will hear more about this program and its impact at the luncheon.

SPONSORSHIP & UNDERWRITING OPPORTUNITIES

Prevailing HOPE: A Gathering for Good is an intimate event, and seating is limited. Sponsorships and underwriting opportunities, which include table benefits, are available now. Top-tier sponsors and select underwriting partners will receive copies of Earhart’s book, Learning to Love the Turbulence: “Flight Lessons” on Becoming the Pilot in Command of Your Own Journey, and first access to the exclusive author book signing immediately following the luncheon, a rare, one-of-a-kind experience.

“This inaugural luncheon represents something truly special for our community,” said Ann Marie Ronsman, Child Advocates of Montgomery County President and CEO. “Every seat filled and every sponsorship secured is a direct investment in the lives of children in Montgomery County who are navigating their own turbulence, and who deserve to know that hope prevails. We are deeply grateful to the individuals and organizations who stand with us, and we invite this entire community to be part of this Gathering for Good.”
