Texas CASA presents their Anti-Child Trafficking September webinar series:

The second training will take place on Wednesday, September 30, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. Carolina Bazan of Rights 4 Girls will lead a presentation on the criminalization of survivors. Although girls in the United States experience high rates of sexual abuse and trafficking, they are often criminalized rather than protected. This webinar will examine the abuse-to-prison pipeline, challenge common misconceptions about girls involved in the legal system, and explore how race and systemic factors—including adultification bias—contribute to the criminalization of girls in the youth justice system. Participants will learn about key patterns of criminalization and review local, state, and federal reforms designed to interrupt this pipeline and center survivor protection.
